Future World Championships hosted by Zurich alone?

Although the ZSC Lions are moving to their new home arena in 2022, the Hallenstadion remains a possible venue to host hockey games, the director of the venue, Felix Frei, says to the Bieler Tagblatt.

In spite of the Lions leaving, Frei is already thinking ahead: "The new arena in Zurich will offer us the opportunity to hold a World Championship with two big stadiums in Zurich alone," Frei explains.

In 2020, the IIHF Worlds will be held in Switzerland for the next time. Then, the tournament will still take place at venues in two cities: at Zurich's Hallenstadion and in Lausanne's new arena.
