Jan Rutz will be out of EHC Winterthur's lineup for at least ten days. Gian-Marco Bamert, who is the Swiss League team's second goaltender, was also not able to hit the ice yesterday, as he experienced pain in one of his fingers. It is not yet clear, whether he will miss more games.
EHC Winterthur thus had to play with Tim Baumann, whose B-license the Lions had acquired when Damien Stettler suffered his injury, and their U20 goaltender Yannick Brennwald.
However, the goalies were not the only EHC Winterthur players to miss the game last night. Anthony Staiger and Samuel Oana were also not in the lineup. Staiger is dealing with a knee injury and will be out of the Lions' lineup for several weeks. The nature of Oana's injury was not disclosed.
