According to the Tribune de Genève, he left the ice due to a sore ankle. Depending on severity of the injury that occurred to Deniss Smirnovs, Genève-Servette HC might have to travel to Ambrì without his second-best "Swiss" scorer of the season. His eight goals and 19 points are in fact second only to Noah Rod's totals.
