After a video conference of all 14 team managers, the DEL has decided to move their season start from September to November, citing both legal and economic reasons.

The league will release a new schedule in September, as well as safety and hygiene concepts from all clubs to ensure the protection of both the players and fans.

The Swiss hockey leagues, on the other hand, are committed to starting their season in September provided that spectators will be allowed, though it remains unclear whether the return will be possible.
