"The decision to leave Thurgau was not easy for me. But after 6 years it was time to look for a new challenge," Mair states. "To build up something sustainable with HCP as a "new" team in the ICE Hockey League [...] appeals to me immensely."

According to the St.Galler Tagblatt, there are rumors that Patrick Spannring and Bernhard Fechtig, who both are in possession of a Swiss players' license, might return to Austria to play in the ICE HL.

While Fechtig has been playing for HC Thurgau since 2019, Spannring joined the Swiss League team in 2020. Both players are at the end of their contract with the Lions.
