The title is determined by votes from Austrian journalists and coaches. The results have been published in the magazine "Powerplay".

Austrian Player of The Year: Dominic Zwerger

Zwerger was already named "Youngster of the Year" of the National League in 2018. This season, he finished the regular season as one of the ten best scorers of the league, his linemate Dominik Kubalík finished the season in first place.

"It's a great honor. It is a bit unexpected as we have some great hockey players in Austria," the forward tells Hockey-News.info. "It is very special if you are honored as the best player of an entire country."

Zwerger is currently in his second season with HC Ambrì-Piotta. His deal with the National League team is valid until 2022. However, he has an NHL out clause in his deal for 2021.
