The SHL team is, however, as it seems not the only party pursuing the 26-year-old forward.

"John is on the market. There are not so many players of his caliber out on the market," general manager Thomas Johansson tells the Falu-Kuriren (relayed by hockeysverige.se). "We scouted John already last year before he chose to sign with Zürich. [...] But we are not alone in looking at that kind of player. That's how it is."

SportExpressen reported yesterday that Leksands IF and John Quenneville were in advanced contract negotiations and that they might be signing a deal as early as next week. Last season, Quenneville recorded 20 goals and 17 assists in 46 regular-season games for the ZSC Lions.
