AHL plans start in February

Originally, the AHL had planned to play their first games on December 1. However, due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, this has become impossible. Unlike the NHL, the AHL also did not finish its 2019-20 season.
The NHL's target date for their season opener is set for January 1. As of today, the NHL would thus start their season a month earlier than their affiliated league.
