As the new head of the Covid-taskforce tells the SonntagsZeitung, the country is close to another exponential growth in cases and there is not much room to play. To prevent that, he mentions a mandatory use of masks in public places and a limit of 100 people at public events. Asked about sport officials demanding major sporting events, Ackermann states: "Further relaxations such as the permission of major events are not possible in this delicate situation."

Ackermann also mentions that they do not specifically know if major events can be held without pushing the epidemic, but that the first data released by the BAG does shows that places where a lot of people gather, more infections happen.
