Today, the 2019 SIHF Awards took place at the Kursaal in Bern.

Leonardo Genoni once again named Goaltender of the Year

Former HC Ambrì-Piotta forward Dominik Kubalìk, who will try his luck in North America this season, was named the Most Valuable Player of the Regular Season. SC Bern captain Simon Moser, on the other hand, took home the award for Most Valuable Player of the Playoffs.

The Goaltender of the Year award went to Leonardi Genoni. He has won the trophy four times now. SC Bern's Tristan Scherwey was voted the Most Popular Player.

Alina Müller once again takes home the Woman of the Year award. She already took the trophy home last year. The 21-year-old comes off her first season in North America, playing for the Northeastern University. In 37 games, she recorded 21 goals and 30 assists.

Janis Jérôme Moser took home the Youngster of the Year Award. The 19-year-old defenseman had a breakout year, making the first team of EHC Biel and posting nine assists in 55 games for the Seelanders.

The «Hockey Award», an award which is handed out to a member of the hockey community for an extraordinary performance or innovation in the hockey business, was awarded to Timo Meier. The NHL forward broke the record for most points scored by a Swiss player in the NHL and recorded his first 30-goal season.
