With Alatalo a defender of HC Lugano thus replaces another defender of HC Lugano in the Swiss national team.
The team will meet today in Fribourg, where they are going to play against Sweden, Czechia, and Finland from December 15 to 18.

Because Mirco Müller is not able to join the national team, head coach Patrick Fischer has called up his teammate Santeri Alatalo.
