"Tommy Albelin has been an important factor for our national teams and their development in recent years," Lars Weibel, Director of National Teams, says. "With his enormous know-how, he is very valuable to us, so an early contract extension was a top priority for us."
The Swede himself is also looking forward to the next years working at Patrick Fischer's side: "I really appreciate the work with Swiss Ice Hockey, the players and the coaches and I'm looking forward to the future and that they continue to set their trust in me."
The Swiss national team, for which Patrick Fischer and Tommy Albelin will be joined by Lars Leuenberger behind the boards, starts their season this afternoon at the Deutschland Cup, with the game against Slovakia (at 16:15).
