It would not be the first time the Lions have shown interest in Petterson. Back in 2013, the ZSC Lions were among the teams who wanted to sign the Swede. He eventually went on to play for HC Lugano and stayed with them until the end of the 2016-17 season.
Pettersson played in the KHL last season. He suited up for Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod and Dinamo Minsk. In a total of 43 games for both teams, he scored 13 goals and 17 assists.
