As the Zürcher Oberländer reports, the GDT Bellinzona is also in talks about the future of the HCB Ticino Rockets. Besides HC Ambrì-Piotta, Bellinzona is the only remaining shareholder of the Rockets.
Apparently, a merger between the Rockets and the GDT Bellinzona is an option, the same source reports. This would mean that Bellinzona will take the Rockets' place in the Swiss League next season.
This might thus also determine the face of the MyHockey League next season. As Wil and Sion do not want to get promoted to the MHL, it is now up to the GDT Bellinzona or then - in case of a merger with the Rockets - EHC Wetzikon.
