Citing sources from Finland, Klaus Zaugg (Watson) reports that Arttu Ruotsalainen will return to Europe for the 2022-23 season and play in the National League.

Apparently, SC Bern is not interested in the forward, as his profile does not match their criteria. There are, however, rumblings that the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers or HC Lugano might become his next employer.

Ruotsalainen, who was never drafted, signed a three-year contract with the Buffalo Sabres in 2019. In the last two seasons, he played 35 games for the Sabres and 59 games for their AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans.
