SC Langenthal just won the 2019 Swiss League yesterday. However, preparations for the next season have already started. The budget will be reduced by at least CHF 500,000 from the current CHF 4 million to 3.5 million.

In addition to rumors about Per Hånberg possibly leaving for EHC Kloten, also a couple of players will leave Langenthal, in order to rejuvenate the squad. The departures of the three import-players Jeff Campbell, Brent Kelly (retired), and Pascal Pelletier, as well as of some Swiss, such as Robin Leblanc, are expected. The contracts of all these players are set to expire at the end of the current season.

Recently, Hånberg, whose two-year contract is running out at the end of the season, told desktopstories.ch that he had received offers from other clubs, however he would like to stay in Langenthal. André Rötheli, EHC Kloten's head coach, was replaced by a coaching trio composed by Felix Hollenstein, Waltteri Immonen, and Beat Equilino, for the last game of the season: Game 5 of the quarterfinal series against SC Langenthal.
