Originally, 33-year-old Canadian defenseman Kevin Klein planned to retire from professional hockey by the end of this past season. But the Lions have apparently managed to convince Klein to add another season to his career, the Aargauer Zeitung writes. According to the same source, final negotiations are scheduled for today - afterwards, the Lions are going to inform about the contract extension.

Kevin Klein has been an important pillar in the ZSC Lions' defensive core during their championship run this past season. He joined the Lions at the beginning of the season, coming from the NHL's New York Rangers. In his first (and maybe not only) season in Switzerland, the 33-year-old appeared in 62 games in which he put up 34 points (13 goals, 21 assists).
