The 24-year-old defenseman is under contract with the SHL team until the end of the 2019-20 season, though. The Lions would thus have to buy him out of his current deal and, according to general manager Peter Jakobsson, it won't come cheap: "It will be hard for Zürich to buy him".
Wilkstrand, who has been a part of Färjestad's organization since 2015, played 51 games for the SHL team this season, recording six goals and 13 assists.
