"I was told that Timo Meier of the San Jose Sharks has risen to the very top of the list as a potential trade target and fit for the Rangers," Seravalli said on a live-stream of the Daily Faceoff. "I don't think there's been much happening with Meier and the Sharks in terms of a contract negotiation. It's front-burner for them to try and maximize the return on Timo Meier."
Recently, The Athletic reported that several teams have called San Jose's General Manager Mike Grier about Timo Meier. The forward's contract with the Sharks expires at the end of the season. They would then have to issue him a $10 million qualifying offer to keep his rights or extend his contract beforehand – or trade him.
