The 26-year-old forward is a pending restricted free agent this offseason and has apparently garnered interest from other teams.

According to The Athletic, teams have called the San Jose Sharks' GM Mike Grier about Timo Meier. The forward, who has recorded 24 goals and 19 assists in 44 games this season thus far, is up for a new contract this offseason.

As per his current contract, the Sharks would have to issue him a $10 million qualifying offer in order to keep his rights - unless, of course, they can agree to a new contract ahead of that.

Grier says that they have been talking, but "we haven’t really gotten too much down the road as far as exchanging proposals or anything, but we’ve had good, open, honest, positive talks to this point.”
