Lian Bichsel remains the only Swiss player to have been selected by an NHL team in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.

Quebec Remparts

The Swiss were left out of Rounds 2 to 7 of the Draft which took place yesterday. There was, however, one player drafted by the Montréal Canadiens that spent the majority of his junior hockey days in Switzerland: Austrian Vinzenz Rohrer, who used to play for the GCK/ZSC Lions organization and now plays in the OHL.

Théo Rochette, who was also available at the Draft as an overager, was once again not selected. According to Kevin Dubé (Journal de Québec), he was, however, invited to attend the development camp of the Philadelphia Flyers next week.

Rochette has a contract in place with Lausanne HC for the upcoming season but already made clear that that would not necessarily mean that he would return to Switzerland come this autumn.
