"Right now, Denis is focused on the NHL. He is looking at his chances to get a contract there," Lausanne HC's head coach John Fust told La Région when asked about a potential return of Malgin. "Of course, we keep in touch with him, but he is far from making a decision for the moment."
Malgin received a qualifying offer by the Toronto Maple Leafs in July, but there has not been an update on the contract talks ever since. The forward, who was under contract with the Leafs last season, did not play a single game for the NHL team last year, as he was loaned to Lausanne HC.
