Being with the Vancouver Canucks since the 2015-16 season, Bärtschi did not get to play too much in the NHL lately. The 28-year-old suited up mostly for their AHL affiliate team, the Utica Comets, during the last two seasons.

As for this past season, Bärtschi played 24 for games for them, scoring five goals and adding nine assists. He has, however, not hit the ice for Vancouver in the NHL. With his new contract in Vegas, Bärtschi might get another chance for a permanent spot in the League.
