Kevin Fiala had to wait a while for the Minnesota Wild to follow up on their qualifying offer. The NHL team first had to find a new general manager, as they let Paul Fenton go earlier this summer. With Bill Guerin on board, the contract talks started up again and have now cumulated into a new deal for Fiala.

The forward received a qualifying offer by the Wild at the end of June. The Swiss forward has been part of their organization since February 2019, when he was traded to them by the Nashville Predators.
