National Hockey League

Late in the seventh round, the Coyotes added the 18-year-old forward to their prospect pool with the 207th pick overall.

Former EHC Biel player Valentin Nussbaumer

Nussbaumer was the only Swiss player to be selected out of this year's draft class. The forward made his debut in the National League in the 2017-18 season, recording five goals and one assist in 27 games. Last summer, he decided to join the Shawinigan Cataractes (QMJHL), who had selected him fourth overall in the 2018 CHL Import Draft.

In his first season overseas he was invited to the CHL/NHL Top Prospect game. However, he was originally not on the roster for the game, he was only added to it due to the injury of Kelowna Rockets player Dillon Hamaliuk, who was drafted 55th overall in the NHL Entry Draft by the San Jose Sharks. In 58 regular season games, Nussbaumer recorded 17 goals and 21 assists.
