Siegenthaler was sent down to the minors on Friday last week to make room for goaltender Ilya Samsonov's recall. The latter was reassigned to AHL's Hershey Bears today in exchange for the 21-year-old Swiss defenseman.

The product of the ZSC Lions played his first two career NHL games against the Blue Jackets on November 9 and the Jets on November 14, in which he had three hits and four blocked shots while averaging 11:38 of ice time.

The Washington Capitals will face the Montreal Canadiens on the road at Bell Centre this Monday night. Puck-drop is on 01:30 CET.
