The Swiss League team has informed several players that they will not be part of them in 2022-23. Jonathan Ang will join the National League.

The question regarding the new head coach has now been answered. As the Thurgauer Zeitung speculated earlier today and as has now been confirmed by HC Thurgau, Markus Åkerblom is taking over the position. He has signed for one season. The 52-year-old is currently one of the assistant coaches of the Swedish national team.

Misha Moor, Aaro Törmänen, Jason Fritsche, and Daniel Woger will have to find a new employer for the upcoming season, as CEO and team manager Urban Leimbacher tells the Thurgauer Zeitung.

Jonathan Ang, for his part, has made the decision to not extend his stay. As Watson writes, the Canadian will join either EHC Kloten or EHC Olten - whichever team will manage to beat the other and promote to the National League. He was the Lions' topscorer this past season.

Ian Derungs will also not play for HC Thurgau next season. He has, as anticipated, made use of his National League out clause. The team he will play for has not yet been disclosed. According to the Thurgauer Zeitung, he was, however, lately rumored to be of interest to HC Ajoie.

As for Frédéric Jolliet, who played for them via B-license, they are in talks with the 23-year-old forward about potentially extending their working relationship. They are also talking with HC Fribourg-Gottéron about Dominik Binias who is expected to play his first National League season next year. Should he no longer be able to play for HCT, the Dragons would make another player available to them.
