Swiss League

The 40-year-old forward has played almost 1,200 games in the National League and the Swiss League for the past two decades.

Thibaut Monnet has been sidelined with a severe concussion since August 2021 and his contract with HC Sierre has expired: "The time has come to say stop. The risks are too great. At my age, I couldn't see myself taking them on anymore. It's not worth it anymore."

As he tells Le Nouvelliste, he is feeling better but he is and was not ready to go back to competing: "I still feel some discomfort when I do exercises a little more intense. But it doesn't last long. I see a constant progression and I am confident that I will not be affected later on in everyday life."

As for his future, Monnet has already been working actively for More Management, a sports agency he founded with two other partners, and a trust company.
