Two retirements ( Marco Mathis and Tim Wieser) and a few departures (Sandro Meier and Filip Sulka to EHC Wil, Mischa Bleiker to EHC Chur, Mike Küng to HC Luzern and Fabian Arnold to Lausanne HC) are already known. There will be more, as Der Landbote writes, namely Justin Gianola, Marcel Raggi, Lucas Bachofner, and Silvan Hess as well as imports Zack Torquato and Riley Brace.

With all the departures, EHC Winterthur's roster currently consists of only 16 players. One of them, Robin Lekic, is from EHC Kloten's juniors, has already spent some time with the club this past season and is going to stay with them. Marius Schwegler, who was sidelined for most of the season due to an injury and has no new contract yet, will stick around on a try-out deal.

Besides that, Winterthur intends to add a netminder, a defenseman, three Swiss forwards and one import, preferably a center.
