According to the Walliser Bote, the 33-year-old defenseman has played his last season for EHC Visp. Heynen is a product of the Swiss League team's organization, and, with the exception of the 2008-09 season, has only ever played for them.
Pascal Blaser, Jan Petrig, and Nils Berger will supposedly also not get a new deal with Visp. The same applies to import players Mark Van Guilder and Troy Josephs. They will, however, wait with the acquisition of new import players, as their new head coach should be a part of that process.
EHC Visp is also still looking for a new head coach, although Yves Sarault remains a candidate for the position, as CEO Sébastien Pico already told Le Nouvelliste last week.
