As the Zürcher Unterländer reports from EHC Kloten's general assembly, the club would have had the chance to break even in the past season. "By reaching the final, Kloten would have been in the black numbers," CEO Pascal Signer told the shareholders. The season, however, ended abruptly after the quarterfinals.

In addition to the help from their fans and partners, the Flughafenstädter also took out a Covid-loan of CHF 500,000.

As the virus is here to stay for now, EHC Kloten is examining with the City of Kloten how their standing area can be converted into seats. This might bring them 800 additional seats, the Zürcher Unterländer writes, and it might thus also reduce the financial damage that is expected in the upcoming season.
