Head coach Chris Bartolone, whose contract was set to expire at the end of this season, will not receive an extension.

Several changes for the 2019-20 season.
EHC Olten

The 49-year-old Italian-American has been with the EHC Olten for the last three seasons, initially as an assistant coach and since February 2018 as head coach. Who will succeed him is open. Team manager Marc Grieder: "This will be a very important decision for the club, we want to take the time we need to do it". The position of assistant coach is also linked to this decision, which is why the future of the previous assistant Michael Tobler is still open.

The changes in the squad include the signing of Silas Matthys, who joins Simon Rytz in the goalkeeper duo. After five years in Canada, the 26-year-old last played for the HCB Ticino Rockets. Matthys has signed a contract with the EHC Olten for one season with an option. Matthys replaces Matthias Mischler, who retires. Also retiring is defenseman Christopher Bagnoud.

In the offensive department, Joachim Vodoz and Stefan Mäder will leave the club. Also leaving are the two import-players, Bryce Gervais and Cason Hohmann, whose contracts will not be extended. One import-position has already been filled for the next season, however, the transfer will not be communicated at this time.

Finally, the two forwards Jérôme Lanz, 20, and Michael Rudolf, 23, also move to EHC Olten. Lanz has a past in the EHC Olten youngsters and played last season for the EVZ Academy, as did Michael Rudolf. Rudolf has signed a two-year contract, while Lanz has been signed for one season.
