About a week ago, the Swedish newspaper Corren reported that Roe will leave his club Linköping HC despite a valid contract and likely join a Swiss team. Now, EV Zug confirms the signing of the 29-year-old. "He can score goals and set them up, plays with a lot of intensity, energy, and speed," EV Zug's team manager Reto Kläy says. "He fits well into our concept."

Garrett Roe has played for Linköping in the Swedish Hockey League for the past two seasons. This term, he put up 37 points (16 goals, 21 assists) in 49 regular season games. In three playoff games, he was kept off the scoresheet.
