Only recently, the 19-year-old forward has signed an Entry-Level Contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets of the NHL. Nevertheless, there is the possibility that he will be loaned to EV Zug for one season as a development stint. "We're in contact [with the Blue Jackets] and we're open for everything," EVZ's team manager Reto Kläy tells the Luzerner Zeitung.
The final decision about Thürkauf's future, however, lies with Blue Jackets general manager Jarmo Kekäleinen. If he thinks Thürkauf will be better off in Europe for one season than in the NHL or the AHL, EV Zug would be happy to welcome him back.
