As Klaus Zaugg (Watson) reports, the SCL Tigers have found their new head coach in Heinz Ehlers. The Dane will sign his new two-year contract, which includes an option for an additional season, on Monday.

Yesterday, Ehlers confirmed to the same source that he had indeed been in contact with the Tigers' team manager Jörg Reber. As Zaugg further reports, Scott Beattie, who is the current head coach of the Tigers, might even stay in Langnau and serve as Ehlers' assistant.

As the Blick writes this afternoon, the coaching change in Langnau is meanwhile a done deal, including the details on Ehlers' two-year contract plus option. Contrary to Zaugg's report this morning, however, Scott Beattie will not stay and serve as Ehlers' assistant, as the club's leadership has apparently rejected the Dane's proposal. The players and the media, after team manager Jörg Reber informed Beattie and his assistant Rolf Schrepfer to pack their bags and go at noon today, will be informed in the course of Monday.

From 2013 until the end of last season, Heinz Ehlers was head coach of Lausanne HC. Despite a valid contract until the end of this season, the 50-year-old Danish coach was replaced by Dan Ratushny in spring.
