Arrived in Davos in 2021 from HC Oceláři Třinec, Matěj Stránský has established himself as a key player for HC Davos scoring at least 25 goals in both of his seasons. However, for team manager Jan Alston it is not all about the goals: "We know that Matěj can score goals. But for us, it was just as important how well he forechecks, how he plays duels or on the boards, and his performance in penalty killing. It's the whole Stránský-package that is valuable for HC Davos."
Until 2027 - Early contract extension also for HC Davos’ Matěj Stránský
Following the extensions to Joakim Nordström and Klas Dahlbeck, HC Davos managed to keep also Matěj Stránský around for three more years.
