As reported by the Südostschweiz, EV Zug's team manager Reto Kläy has been talking to Leonardo Genoni about a possible extension. However, both parties know that the goaltender is an expensive player and the club has a budget to follow. Nonetheless, Kläy would like to find a solution and keep the goalie around.
Asked by the newspaper about a possible transfer to another team, Genoni only states that "there are various options I have." At this moment, however, it seems more likely that Genoni will stay in Zug as there have been "good talks".
An official statement on the matter is expected soon as the veteran netminder reveals: "I think there will be something to communicate in a short time". Whether it will be an extension or a farewell, only time will tell.
