SC Bern has not yet signed an import goaltender, but Ebbett and Streit are reportedly currently sorting through their options. SCB's starting netminder Philip Wüthrich would thus receive some competition for the upcoming season.
The National League team has, however, already extended the contract of Daniel Manzat, Wüthrich's backup. Manzato would thus likely lose his position as a backup once the new acquisition would arrive.
It remains to be seen what Manzato would do then, whether he would continue to play or retire. According to Zaugg, EHC Visp has made inquiries about him, so he might have a chance to become their starting goaltender in the Swiss League.
