Genève-Servette HC laid the base for the victory in the first period when Sami Vatanen beat Harri Säteri twice. The Grenats even took a 3-0 lead in the 23rd minute through a goal from Daniel Winnik.
EHC Biel came within two thanks to a goal from Gaëtan Haas in the 31st minute of play, but they did not manage to overcome the two-goal deficit from the first period. In fact, GSHC even increased their lead to 4-1 when Teemu Hartikainen scored in the 51st minute of play.
The Seelanders did not manage to score again, thus the Grenats were crowned the 2022-23 National League champion. It is the first championship title in club history.
