"I didn't want to get caught up in it until the season was over," Benjamin Chavaillaz explains to La Liberté. Will he keep playing or retire? "I'm open to anything," he says. "The important thing is to keep as many doors open as possible."
Without an agent since 2019, it is now up to Chavaillaz himself to pick up the phone and call other clubs. A task that he did not want to start between games with HC Fribourg-Gottéron.
At the age of 34 and after seven years in Fribourg, he knows that finding a new club is not a given. "If I don't find a club, I'm going to do some training and internships to get my foot back in the door of the professional world," he says.
