EV Zug has announced the signing of Lukas Bengtsson to a two-year contract. The Swedish defenseman joins from the SHL's Växjö Lakers. Expressen had already reported on the matter last week.

"Lukas is an excellent skater with an offensive instinct", Zug's team manager Reto Kläy states. "He is at the ideal hockey age and now wants to take the next step in his career in the National League. I am happy that he will be a part of our organization for the next two years."

Bengtsson made his debut in men's hockey in the 2011-12 season with Mora IK in the HockeyAllsvenskan, where he also spent his latter junior time. In 2015, he joined Frölunda IK and made his SHL debut. A two-year interlude in the AHL followed before returning to Sweden again for one season. He then moved to the KHL until 2022, when he went back to his home country once more.
