Rumors had been circulating for a few days that the ZSC Lions have changed their mind about not renewing Bodenmann's contract. Now, it is clear that the 34-year-old will indeed stay in Zürich for an additional season. It will be his sixth with the Lions.
"In view of the improvement in performance under head coach Marc Crawford, I sat down with Simon again and we were able to agree on a contract extension for one year," explains team manager Sven Leuenberger.
With 14 goals so far this season, Simon Bodenmann is the ZSC Lions' top Swiss scorer. In addition, he also recorded eleven assists and leads the league among Swiss players for plus/minus balance, with a +19.
