Without a team since last spring after his tenure with HC Lugano, Justin Abdelkader has found a new (old) employer. EV Zug, looking for reinforcement due to Carl Klingberg's injury-related absence, has taken on the US-American for the remainder of the year, with the option to extend the contract until the end of the season.

It will be Abdelkaders second stint with Zug, as he was with the club for the 2020-21 season. "We already know Justin and his style of play very well. So we know what to expect from him", team manager Reto Kläy notes. "In addition, we are better protected against possible further injuries with him. I am happy that he will strengthen us until at least the end of the year."

The 35-year-old forward has made a total of 34 National League games so far, recording twelve goals and eleven assists.
