HC Lugano decided to add another import player to their roster due to their current injury situation. Julian Walker will be out of their lineup for four to six months as he will have to undergo another surgery on his left leg.

Daniel Carr, too, is not at 100 %: he is dealing with the after-effects of Covid-19. As exams revealed, he is dealing with a form of long-Covid. According to HCL's statement, his situation is not "worrisome but needs to be monitored day by day."

Brett Connolly will thus reinforce them for the upcoming season. The Canadian has been playing in the NHL and the AHL since the 2011-12 season. Last season, he recorded 17 goals and 18 assists in 37 games for the Rockford IceHogs. He also put up one assist in nine games for the Chicago Blackhawks.

Furthermore, as RSI reports, Julien Vauclair will finally see his number "3" raised to the rafters of the Cornèr Arena on September 16. Lugano had announced in March 2020 that they would retire his number once the "world has regained its normality."
