According to the German newspaper Bild am Sonntag, Jessica Campbell is in contract negotiations with EHC Kloten regarding an assistant coach position. She would thus support Jeff Tomlinson in his tasks.

“I’m here working on special teams and development with some of the players,” she explained in an interview with IIHF.com about her role in the German national team. "My background is in skating and skill development, but I’m also supporting the staff and adding value and knowledge and a different perspective, a different vision of the game."

“I think Toni [Söderholm, head coach of the German national team] says I add different, similar concepts to accomplish the same goals, different concepts I use more in my skill development to get the players to understand how they can have more success," she further elaborates. "I don’t see my role as any different from the other assistant coaches, but I think I maybe have a unique perspective because of how I’ve studied the game and understand the game and approaches to development.”

Campbell transitioned from playing right into coaching and has now been coaching for several years. This past season, she also worked as an assistant and skills coach for the Nürnberg Ice Tigers (DEL).
