Two days after the Värmlands Folkblad reported that Jesse Virtanen is going to play in Switzerland next season, his new club is known. The Finnish international activates his out-clause with the SHL's Färjestad BK and moves to the Leventina on a one-year deal.
For the past two seasons, Virtanen has played for Färjestad. In 121 games over this time span, he recorded 72 points (20 goals). Last week, he celebrated the Swedish championship title with the club.
After Czech forward Filip Chlapík, Jesse Virtanen is HC Ambrì-Piotta's second new imports-player for the upcoming season.
