As EHC Kloten's president Mike Schälchli tells Klaus Zaugg (Watson), they will, however, give more support to Tomlinson by adding another assistant coach. Originally, Kloten had been looking for a new head coach (Tomlinson would have remained on the coaching staff) due to Tomlinson's health.
In other news, EHC Kloten will start the season with seven import players, one being a goaltender. Mike Schälchli was only willing to tell Zaugg that they had found a "good man" and that Zaugg would have to ask his "Finnish friends" to find out more.
According to Zaugg's research, only one name would fit the bill: Juha Metsola. Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg announced that he would be playing for them for the next two seasons at the beginning of May. However, his agent Jarmo Kork told Yle Urheilu on the same day that his client signed his contract in January before the start of the war and the player is not planning to go to Russia to play.
Metsola has played in the KHL for the past seven seasons. Last season, he appeared in 31 regular-season games for Salavat Yulaev Ufa, posting a .931 save percentage.
