The 27-year-old forward has an out-clause in his contract with the Grenats, although it was supposed to be for the KHL and not the Liiga. However, Simek has already confirmed his departure from Geneva on Twitter. In his message, he thanks the fans and his teammates for the last four years.
The former SC Bern prospect joined the Eagles back in 2011 and has since then scored 110 points (55 goals, 55 assists) in 218 games for them. His contract would have run through 2016.
