The contracts of Hedlund and Robertsson would have been valid through the 2022-23 season, but both are going to stay for at least one additional season. Also Sven Berger has extended his contract a few weeks ago for an additional year, the Lakers announce.
"The youngest squad in the league is being brought closer to the national top with daily, hard work," the Lakers write in a press release. "And this path is far from complete." Both club management and coaches agree that the path taken should be continued.
The SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers are arguably the biggest surprise of the current season. They are currently third in the standings with almost two points per game on average, only trailing HC Fribourg-Gottéron (2.079) and EV Zug (2.051).
