Aftonbladet reported earlier today that Juuso Vainio would leave the Växjö Lakers next spring. HC Fribourg-Gottéron now confirmed the deal. Vainio will thus play his first season in Switzerland next year.
Vainio had only ever played in Finland before he joined the Lakers in 2020. The Finn has appeared in 21 games for the SHL team this season, recording three assists.
